Who We Are

Springfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is located in western Hanover County near Richmond, Virginia. We are committed to loving God and sharing our faith in Jesus Christ with the community and beyond.

The membership of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) reflects freedom and diversity in worship, in service and in fellowship. There are no set doctrines or rules, so individuals can discover the methods that best speak to their souls.

We serve God and God’s people by providing: 

• joyful worship and praise.
• educational opportunities for all ages to enrich personal spiritual growth.
• inspirational, uplifting music.
• a place where children and youth are valued and feel valued.
• a loving atmosphere of acceptance and inclusion.

We are called to go beyond our own fellowship by ministering to all persons through service and prayers so that they, too, will know God’s love. Reaching out to others is central to our ministry, and opportunities are provided for all, children to adults, to participate.

Some of the missions that we regularly take part in are:

• CARITAS – Churches Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter
• WHEAT – Western Hanover Emergency Action Team
• Mission to Hanover – A program to winterize and repairs homes in our community
• Refugee Resettlement
• Habitat for Humanity
• Monroe Cabin – The restoration and maintenance of a large cabin at Craig Springs Camp and Conference Grounds, our denomination’s summer camp in Virginia
• Church World Service – The making of education and health “Gifts of the Heart” kits
• Relay for Life to support cancer research
• “Souper Bowl” Sunday
• Crop Walk
